The vans’ 2500 and 3500 models now receive GM’s Hydramatic 6L90 6-speed automatic transmission and revised rear axles. GM claims the new transmission and axles will improve low-rpm torque and highway fuel economy.

The Express and Savanna also will offer remote vehicle start for the first time in 2010.

The HHR Panel features windowless side panels that replace the passenger version’s glass windows. Both of the van’s 4-cylinder engines deliver mileage ratings of 22 city/32 highway with the 5-speed manual, and 22 city/30 highway for automatics.

Ford’s AdvanceTrac with RSC (roll-stability control) is available on commercial vans with gasoline engines. T
