Freightliner TrucksLAS VEGAS — Freightliner Trucks showcased its first concrete mixer with compressed natural gas technology at the 2013 World of Concrete in Las Vegas this week.
The 114SD CNG-fueled mixer is equipped with the Cummins Westport ISL G natural-gas engine, said Freightliner, which collaborated with McNeilus Cos. to build the truck. It has a heavy-duty frame, steel reinforced aluminum cab and flexible specs.
The unit is built on Freightliner’s severe-duty platform and is designed for a variety of applications. It is available in a wide range of vocational rear suspensions and frame options, the truck maker said.
“The combination of our severe-duty concrete mixer with natural-gas technology is the ideal blend of power, performance and efficiency,” said Robert Carrick, Freightliner Trucks’ manager of natural gas sales.
